Swift Swimming Wins Nationals

The Royal Bank of Canada and RBC Finco 2012 National Swim Championships were a huge success on the weekend and saw the Swift Swim Club win the team title.

The Barracuda Swim Club was second and the Dolphins took third.  The meet wrapped up Sunday evening at the Betty K. Swim Complex with over 300 athletes taking part.

While there were many new meet records and some national records set, there were no new Olympic qualifying swims for The Bahamas.  Arianna Vanderpool-Wallace remains the only swimmer from The Bahamas to qualify for the Olympics thus far.  She has qualified for both the 50-free and the 100-free.

Now that the swimming nationals are over The Bahamas Swim Federation is expected to name a team that will compete at the Caribbean Island Swimming Championships in Aruba set for June 22nd- 27th.
