The Director of  Sports, Tim Munnings, The Bahamas Olympic Committee Secretary General Derron Donaldson,  Sports Liason Officer for Tennis in the Ministry of Sports Kevin Colebrooke were all on hand to welcome back Team Bahamas on their stellar performance in Escauza, Costa Rica. 

The 2018 Davis Cup team consisted of the #1 seeded Baker Newman, #2 seeded Philip Major Jr., Jody Turnquest and the Player/Coach Marvin Rolle.   The entire team expressed joy and exuberance at the win and stated that all they wanted to do was "make their country proud".  They surely achieved this goal!

The Bahamas has been promoted once again in Davis Cup Competition after the stellar performance displayed in tournament play by its world class athletes.  The Bahamas who presently sits in the The Davis Cup, Americas Zone III in 2018 had just been relegated after playing in Zone II in 2017.

Therefore the mission was clear: our guys had to work hard to ensure that The Bahamas would earn the right to enter into Zone 2 competition in 2019.  Mission Accomplished!

Michael Pintard said it is in the country’s collective economic interest to bring outstanding, international renowned Bahamian coaches back home, whether on full time or a part-time basis, in order to attract Bahamian elite athletes and their friends to come and train in The Bahamas.

AUSTRALIA -  In Saturday's finals for the men's 4 x 400 metre at the Gold Coast XXI Commonwealth Games, Bahamas took silver with an SB of 3:01.92, just behind gold medalists, Botswana with with 3:01.78.

Jamaica came third with 3:01.97.  Congrats to Ramon Miller, Michael Mathieu, Alozo Russell and Ojay Ferguson.
